Existing data, privacy, ethics, and AI frameworks do not recognise Indigenous authority, collective rights, or relational accountability.
As a result, Indigenous data has repeatedly been collected and used without consent, control, or benefit returning to Indigenous peoples.
The Indigenous Data Authority exists to close this governance gap by embedding Indigenous authority, consent, and accountability into organisational systems before harm occurs.
Governance is not abstract. It always comes back to people.
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata
(It is the people, the people, the people)
